When is the tournament?
Friday 05 September. First games start at 2pm
Is there an entry fee?
Yes at the entrance gate, R10 per person, under 10 free of charge, scholars in school uniform will not be charged
What do we get for our entry fee?
You will receive an event booklet that includes the fixtures and venue information
Is there any parking available?
Yes, we have parking available at Claremont Primary School fields and underground parking that will only be available after 5pm. See VENUE INFORMATION HERE

How long are the matches?
Pool matches – 7 min a half.
Final – 10min a half.
What is the tournament format?
There are 2 pools and each team plays a minimum of 1 game, with the winner of the opening round moves to Round 2. The winners of round 2 moves to the Quarter Finals, where the winners move to the Semi Finals. The winners of the Semi Final play each other in the main final.
What happens if we lose our first game?
Teams that lose their first round matches are put into a draw for the Plate competition which culminates in a final.
Are scrums contested?
The short answer is YES.
Are there any rules specific to Sevens?
Yes and No. Standard rugby rules apply, except for IRB 7′s Laws exceptions – e.g. team that scores restarts, all kicks at goal shall be drop kicks.
Will there be facilities for children?
There are no specific facilities or entertainment for minor children
Will there be refreshments available?
Yes, there will be Spur burgers, & soft drinks etc on sale outside while the famous Brooksider Grill will be selling its usual menu. See their menu HERE
Will there be alcoholic drinks on sale?
Yes, there is a bar available called the Brooksider Pub. Please note that strictly no u18s will be allowed to purchase any alcoholic beverage and I.D may be asked.
